Project Description
Mind Body Spirit Yin Yoga
Required equipment: mat, block, strap, cushion
Duration: 6 Classes
Difficulty Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Instructor: Sophie
Online Course Description:
These six classes draw inspiration from the foundational principle of yin yoga that mind, body and spirit are inseparable. Through the long-hold poses of the practice, these classes explore how yin yoga can influence us beyond our physical bodies.
Accessible to all levels, this class works with the heart meridian, opening, and helping to release tension in the upper body (shoulders and chest). Including elements of mindfulness and guided self enquiry.
Duration: 31 minutes
A grounding and calming practice for any time, but especially for when you’re feeling out of your centre. The slow meditative pace of yin and the focus on the breath helps to soothe and nourish the nervous system, and helps us to shift into our parasympathetic mode (rest and recover)
Duration: 42 minutes
This practice works with the earth element energy channels for grounding and the water element energy channels for calming.
Duration: 33 minutes
Combining backbends and hip-opening this slow-paced class works with the meridians (energetic pathways of the body) of the metal element. The energy flow of these meridians (lung and large intestine) govern our relationship to change and letting go.
Duration: 32 minutes
A slow-paced class where we work with the fascia (connective tissue) to deeply open in the hips.
Duration: 42 minutes
Including elements of mindfulness and traditional Chinese medicine, this is a great class for those who want to work on opening their hips in support of their yang (active/dynamic) practice.
Duration: 42 minutes
