Course description:

Welcome to Introduction to ThaiVedic where we will learn about the 5 elements, the 3 doshas, bodywork techniques and lifestyle guidance for connection and healing. These teachings come from the school of ThaiVedic, an internationally renowned school that unites holistic medicine from all walks of life.

In this course, we will explore the 5 elements and 3 Doshas of Ayurveda, their qualities and characteristics and how to recognize them in yourself and in another. There will be a meditation through the 5 elements and how they make up the 3 doshas, so we can recognize the innate wisdom of nature that is available for us at any given moment.

Three of the classes will focus on ThaiVedic bodywork techniques that calm and soothe our nervous system, release stagnant energy and pain, and create safe connection, all while balancing the doshas. The final class will be a class on the Ayurvedic Time Clock and how to create a schedule for your daily life that aligns with the rhythms of nature.  I invite you to visit our website, thaivedic.com, to learn more about upcoming trainings around the world and for more online courses. Enjoy!

his is a meditation to understand the qualities and characteristics of the 5 elements of Ayurveda (ether, air, fire, water, and earth), which make up all of life’s existence. Once we recognize the elements, we can live in a better relationship with ourselves and the natural world. The 5 elements are further divided into the 3 doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), in order to recognize disease tendencies. This empowers us to make mindful decisions to balance our day-to-day life.

This is a bodywork sequence to balance the Vata dosha. Vata can present itself as an overactive, mind, worry, anxiety, or issues  within nervous system. This bodywork, the Ganesh leg sits, utilizes deep, grounding compression to move stagant energy in the legs, revitalizating and reconnecting the energy of both the giver and receiver.

This is a bodywork sequence designed to balance the Pitta dosha. Pitta can present itself as upward rising heat, stress, and over-productivity which can lead to burnout. These bodywork techniques are designed to pull heat out of the head, neck, and shoulders, so the recipient can rest into the gifts of a calm and cool embodiment.

Duration: 20 minutes

This is a bodywork sequence to balance the Kapha dosha. Kapha can present itself as heaviness, lethargy, or stagnant energy. These bodywork techniques are designed to shake things up and clear the mind so the recipient can realign with their path, feeling recharged and energized.

Duration: 15 minutes

The Ayurvedic Time Clock is a daily schedule to align your biological rhythms with the cycle of the sun. When we understand the innate rhythms of nature, we can use our energy to its best capacity. For example, we know when it is optimal to rest, digest, exercise, and sleep. Included in the video is a short and sweet yoga practice to start your day with grounded energy.
